Our Tech Department gave this aerosol finish five stars. A super-tough, professional-looking stock finish applied in only hours without runs or sags. Fills as it coats so you won't spend extra time cutting-back or sanding in. Dries to the touch in only 45 minutes and can be recoated in as little as six hours. Specially formulated, oil-modified urethanes resist scuffs and scratches but provide the look and feel of traditional, hand-rubbed oil finishes, without all the hard work. Will not cloud or discolor with age; dries to a uniform satin finish without the aggravating splotches so common in many aerosol "furniture" finishes.
Cannot ship outside Continental United States. Ship UPS Ground only within U.S.
SPECS: Satin Gloss. 14 oz./397g aerosol cans.
Penetrates wood to seal out moisture and quickly fill the grain. Produces a hard, tough finish that dries tack-free in as little as 2-3 hours; dries to full cure in 48 hours. Tung oil-modified urethanes resist scuffing, marring and will not chip, crack or peel. Dries to a soft gloss; can be polished to a high gloss or cut to a satin finish.
Developed by Rick Schrieber, used and recommended by John Bivins and Joe Balickie in their stockmaking video (also Rifle #87 and May ’84 Muzzle Blasts). Made with oil-modified polyurethanes that give the superior water resistance of the plastics without the brittleness, temperature sensitivity and later touch-up problems. Produce high-quality, “in-the-wood” or “built-up” finishes to delight even the pickiest pro. Both contain the same basic resins and polymers. The Sealer penetrates deeper into the wood, while the Finish does a better job of filling pores in open-grained woods.
Easy-to-use Tru-Oil brings out the warm, natural beauty of a wood stock and gives it the look of a deep, rich, hand-rubbed finish without the hassle. It requires an average of only three coats and dries so fast - 90 to 120 minutes per coat - that a stock can be finished in one day! Tru-Oil is a purified triple-processed blend of all-natural oils that penetrates into the grain to seal out moisture. Won’t yellow or cloud the grain, and the surface becomes harder and tougher. Apply multiple coats to produce a high-gloss finish, or for a more subdued satin finish, cut back the gloss with fine steel wool or rubbing compound, then apply Birchwood Casey Stock Sheen & Conditioner (sold separately). Tru-Oil is perfect for refinishing existing stocks; for an unfinished stock, first apply Birchwood Casey Clear Sealer & Filler. Minor scuffs and marks on a stock finished with Tru-Oil are easily fixed: just rub the spot gently with a pad moistened with Tru-Oil.
Aerosol Tru-Oil cannot be shipped to California.
SPECS: Available in 3 fl. oz. (90 ml) and 8 fl. oz. (237 ml) bottles, or 11 fl. oz. (325 ml) aerosol can. Dries in 90 to 120 minutes; cures in 48 hours.
Pure linseed oil, specially refined to dry in just 2 to 3 hours to a tough, hard, easy-to-touch-up finish. So simple to use, you can even leave sanding dust to help fill pores. Apply stain (if desired) and follow with finger-dunks of Lin-Speed. Smooth out with the heel of your hand and set aside to dry. First coat will "freeze" sanding whiskers for easy removal, ending time consuming steaming and de-whiskering. Stop working so hard at your stock finishing! Sand it well, then APPLY Lin-Speed and LET DRY!

Walnut - a vivid, rich brown enhances real walnut and darkens lighter hardwoods. Clear - no stains included, intended to enrichen and enhance the grain on birdseye maple, myrtle or other fancy-grained, light-colored woods.
